Achieve Anything in One Year? Read this book and yes, you can!

February 19, 2010

Here in Delaware the snow is really piling up. We’ve had over 40 inches in the past couple of weeks — and no, that’s not a typo. I am way, way past sitting on the couch watching the snowflakes drifting by and thinking how Currier-and-Ives-perfect our yard looks. So much time stuck inside can become a little depressing — I mean, snow forts and sledding have even paled for the kids! Now we sit on the couch and bemoan our fate as we wait for the next round of shoveling to begin.

So when my copy of Achieve Anything in Just One Year by Jason Harvey from Amazing Life Press arrived in the mail, I was more than ready to listen to its inspiring message!

The book is designed to be read in daily chunks. Each “lesson” takes 5-10 minutes to read and there is sometimes a little homework. Each day starts with a motivational quote from sources as diverse as Martin Luther King, Jr., to Pablo Picasso, to Lucille Ball.

If you use this book correctly, you will read only one lesson per day and really focus on that message and try to incorporate it into your life, so you can be ready for the next lesson. Author Jason Harvey was genius when deciding to utilize this format — how many times have you picked up a self-help book , read three chapters, become completely and totally overwhelmed, never to crack the spine again?

Through sometimes poignant anecdotes and real, no nonsense advice, Jason Harvey manages to make the reader feel that anything is possible. It all begins with a single, small step in the right direction.

So, what is your dream? To become an artist? Learn to fly a helicopter? Run a marathon? Whatever your unique dream, you can achieve anything in one year. But first, you have to get off of the couch!

A sample copy of this book was received through The Product Review Place for evaluation.
